    Gnat's new (OMG PINK!) bike!

I know, I know: you ladies can take or leave pink. That thread maybe finally died.

Well, me? I LOVE pink. A lot, with a vengeance; this is no secret. My boyfriend, thank goodness, not only accepts this, he downright encourages it.

So he surprised me on Christmas with news of my upgraded and custom-painted bike frame, that I didn't get to see until recently. I finally rode it Sunday for the first time. WOW!

(Bottlecages from liza still in effect!)

Details on the pretty parts: magenta with a heavy multi-colored glitter, then clear coated. My name and the logo are in a shimmery white. The cranks and stem are painted to match. The "lugs" are real silver leaf.

Underneath all that is a 2010 Ruby, which is stiff as heck and descends like a beautiful dream: it carves the road like a snowboarder on a fresh patch of powder. So. Flipping. Cool.

And since I name all my bikes after cheese, this one is henceforth known as Windsor.

Here's to the next 10,000 miles!!

I think that bike's way beyond the pink or not thing; it's just beautiful! And sounds like you're having fun riding, so that's the best sort of bike possible! Here's wishing you many happy miles together!

Here's my uber-not-color-representative iPhone pic I took when I first got it together:

I'm starting to think of switching to that metallic silver handlebar tape. I dunno now!

OMG, that is HAWT! I just showed it to my hubby and he had to check out your Flick'r page to look at the biggest versions. He has an older Roubaix and loved the paint job on yours, even though he loves his matte carbon (boring, IMO) frame.

    Nice!!!

That's a great bike for you Gnat!

If you wanted to pink it up even more, you could have a pair of wheels built with these.

My boyfriend has handbuilt wheels in all kinds of colours and has these rims in "teak" himself. I think I might get him to build me some snake skin ones for my next bike.
