I have to confess that chocolate is wasted on me - I like it, but I probably wouldn't jaywalk across a busy street for it. Rafanelli, on the other hand...
My favorite lines from that movie are:
"How do you know she's a witch?"
"She turned me into a newt." <...wait for it...> "I got better"![]()
[OK - gotta get back to work!]
Keep calm and carry on...
Fishdr-I spend most of my life in pre-migraine, migraine, or post migraine. I am without pain for maybe a week out of a month. The million dollar question is what is causing them. Neurologists have been watching me for 23 years trying to figure that one out. I gave up trying to long ago. They are not hormonal based nor do foods trigger them. We do know my serotonin is all whacked out (okay, I know there is a fancy term for that, work with me). More tests on the 18th, but those are to determine if another stroke is imminent, check for clots, etc.
As long as I have chocolate, I can get through the mix of emotions I am going through. Knowing I could have a stroke was so different from actually having one. My boys are young, I am young, and darn it, I will participate in a triathlon.
I am slipping into pity mode, I will go grab the chocolate my SS sent and not bother everyone.

BMo3 - maybe something in the new round of tests will give some indication of the cause. Technology now is so much better than even 5 years ago. It might be worth trying to figure it out. At least the world will never run out of chocolate! Focus on the triathlon. Geez - you're a mom of 3. That alone proves you're tough as nails! Hang in there. We're here for you. Please don't ever feel like you're boring us with your medical stories. If you need us, we'll be there. Now - go eat more SB, toodle around the neighborhood on your bike and hug your kids![]()

Biking Mom- Take good care of yourself! I'm so sorry to hear about the stroke, but hopefully there will be better news in the days ahead. Gotta keep playing the cards we're dealt...
Still waiting on news from one of those prospective employers... finding out that the dry-dry-dry air at work is causing me total agony with the contacts... gruh. lots of rewetting solution. =P Other than that, so wild to get up in the morning and see even when first opening my eyes. Correction, though, I don't have the O2Optix, I have the night&days... the 30 day ones (o2optix are 2 wk removeables...)
it's turning into a LONG monday. =P

OK, so the drink of this weekend was the B-52.
Grand Marnier, Irish Cream and Kaluah. All must be chilled; GM and K in the freezer, IC in the fridge b/c putting it in the freezer does weird things to it.
In a liqueur glass (or really big shot glass) layer as such, pouring each over the back of a chilled spoon, rinsing the spoon off between ingredients:
1 1/2 oz Kaluah
1 1/2 oz Irish Cream
1 1/2 oz Grand Marnier
Pour veeerrrry slowly over the back of the spoon to layer. It takes some practice.
If you don't feel like all that work, then throw the above into a shaker with ice and shake the h*ll out of it, then serve.
Taste is that of an orange creamsicle dipped in chocolate, or one of those chocolate oranges you have to hit on something to break apart. Too good. =D
ahh yes my personal bar tender. glad you made it to the party![]()

Hey, just catch a flight south and spend the weekend... I'll play around with every GM/K/IC combination there is (and just you wait and see if I could find Sambuca!)
When I really *was* a bartender in my other life (back in 1980, apparently before you were born..) - B52's were the big thing. I made dozens of trays of them every night... Then we invented a B52 "float" (pour the b52 ingredients over the rocks and add coke. Weird but tasty...

It is nice to know I can have a pity party here with all of you should I need another one. You gals are awesome!
Okay, I do not know who my SS was, but she rocks! I have been overdosing on SB. Did you know the SB hot cocoa mix can be melted and used for dipping fruit and pretzels in? I highly recommend it.![]()
Kitsune-I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for a wonderful job offer.
Pity I am not allowed to drink.I recall B-52s. Kelownagirl-I was around in the 80s, a snotty private school girl, who um may have once or twice dabbled with B-52s.

Any ideas for a cool hat I can wear to hospital that will double as a cycling hat to keep me warm over the winter months under my helmet?
