I am so sorry for this calimity. Prayers for your Dad, for you and for a miracle of healing.

Dealing with a dad who is ill is hard enough, the sudden onset makes it that much harder. Take care of your mom.

    thanks again, everyone.

He saw the priest (not religious but he wanted to see one), and afterwards asked for something to help him sleep. I got there just after they took him off the medication to keep his blood pressure up. He was sedated and resting comfortably so I went home. My brother and his wife got there around 11pm, and around midnight I got a call that I should get to the hospital.

I had to go pick my mother up, so by the time we got there, he had already gone. Nobody thought it would happen that quickly, but I guess he was ready to go. At least my brother and his wife were there and they said he went very peacefully. He went to sleep and never woke up, so that was the kindest thing we could have hoped for him.

Badger, I'm so sorry about father. I hope you and your family find the love and support that you need to get through this difficult time. Take care of yourself.

Badger, I am so sorry. Losing my father was the toughest thing I've ever had to face in this life, so I cry with you now. Be glad he didn't suffer and that you were able to see him in his final days.

My deepest sympathies to you and your family...
