Woohoo!!! Sunny and 70 here in Chicagoland today - I'm off to ride a practice run of the MS150 route!! Rain will be back tonight so I'm gonna make hay while the sun shines!

Ride a few miles for me Nuthatch - we're enjoying a week-up 'up north' with son's #1 & #2 and 7 dogs! Will be doing a bit of spring clean-up such as mowing the lawn, cutting brush from around a couple of the apple trees and plowing, disking and picking rock on a couple of new food plots for the wildlife. Hopefully getting projects completed this week-end will allow us some fun time over the holiday week-end. Especially since our favorite ice cream shop opens next week-end. I'm dreaming of almond joy ice cream ...

If I drank a red bull I would probably not sleep for two days. I have actually had co workers cut me off and not allow me to drink anymore Mountain Dews because I get so wired . I don't know if the allegra is helping other than my allergies though!

Sunny days are here again! (well not actually but thinking positive always helps)

That, and they have castles. Castles make up for alot of yucky weather.

Land of enchantment....ahhh! We could all use some baking desert heat about right now, Corsair! Can you help???
Castles make up for a lot of yucky anything! I would love to live someplace like that - though I have always wondered how I would take the weather there. Maybe there rain and mist is somehow different. It is to be expected so isn't as bad?

    Weather & ride report

Well, our flawlessly sunny day didn't turn out quite so sunny but it was really nice to have warm, dry weather to ride!

My ride partner and I had loni0908k along with us for the ride! It was sooo cool to actually meet one of the TE members in person. And we all survived our 75+ mile ride (a first for all of us). Now we just have to do it two days in a row next month. Are there enough aspirins and energy bars in the world to do the job?

Almond joy ice cream? MMMMMM!! How many miles do I have to ride to get a scoop of that as a reward, BC?

Another U2 Fan!!! In case anyone is wondering ... after two days of normal temps we are back to the cool, misty weather that has a bit of a stiff breeze mixed in for good measure.

Looks like I'm back to castles and wee drams ... for any of you ladies who enjoy celtic music check out Steve McDonald's cd's. Great for trainer tunes

Nuthatch ... it is so sinful (one of those ice creams that probably has 38% butterfat) ... my theory is any amount of biking time spent working off Almond Joy ice cream (from the ice cream shop in Elcho, WI) is better than sitting around thinking how good that second scoop was!

Awesome on the week-end ride! I hope those of us who reside in the midwest can pick a date/time for a TE members ride.

Since you survived the 75+ mile ride I know you can definatley 'bank that ride' towards almond joy ice cream.

Feeling so much better having confessed to that double scoop

Hey Yellow, cheer up, you could live in the Northeast.
The weather page for those of us in Massachusetts says rain or showers for the next 8 days. And its cold!!! It feels more like March here than May. This has been the coldest, wettest spring I can remember in a long time.
I just had to post because I know CorsairMac will come back and tell me how gorgeous it is where she is.

Yellow, you get enough sun yesterday? With my sunscreen applier and official nag out of state, I rode 105 miles in 3 days without any. I am officially fried. Just visited Jason at the shop (took him my bike for shipping) and he sold me some Kinesys 30 Kids' formula (no adult stuff for me).

V, I decided to forego REI as Oregon and no sales tax are in my very near future.

Went MTB'ng Sat with Snowtulip and a friend of hers and let me tell ya'll....they are the descent Queens!! This was Nothing like the first ride I went on with Snow, and I didn't want it to end. There was a rock drop that I absolutely was Not going to try this time - it was just a tad bit more than my mind could handle after everything they threw at me!....but I did a stream crossing, caught some Awesome air on some bumps, and went endo in slow motion!! wheeeeee
Sun I did a self-supported 54 mile road ride in the late afternoon and had a blast. Got all whiney between mile 24-30 and then had to laugh at myself coz it wasn't like anyone had MADE me do this ride!! soo all n all an awesome weekend
Surly: yuppers you got it....the temps were in the high 90s both days with the humidity in the low teens. And MTB'ng in the mountains here is just amazing......it feeds my hiking and my biking needs all at the same time and gets me into the mountains!!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"

See CorsairMac, I knew you wouldn't disappoint me! I may have to drag the indoor trainer out again if this keeps up. Glad you're having so much fun. I'll live vicariously through you.
