I'll add my whinny winter voice to the mix! Just when the snow and ice had retreated enough to have a visible shoulder for riding, we get more snow and temps at and below zero! And with the very cold dry air comes beautiful sunny days and here I sit at work! And now there's more snow forecasted this weekend. bikerHen

44 and sunny this weekend in Southern Indiana!

I'm taking my bike apart and packing it up for the weekend at home #1!

Today was a bitter high of about 15 (and windy). I was so stir crazy that I went to the Y, did a cycling class, one weight circuit AND ran 1 mile (I DO NOT RUN...BUT I DID!), and then did ANOTHER cycling class. Then I came home, ate broccoli and cauliflower (with a hint of cheeze sauce).

Hmmm, maybe cold and stir crazy is good for my health...

Awright, so the NWS says it's 31 degrees in Seattle right now. That's not bitter cold but it sure feels like it.

I went for a 35 mile ride tonight. I was ok on the ride into town, then I stopped, ate dinner and had a beer. When I left to ride home, my fingers were wicked cold and I was wearing warm gloves. It took a while for me to bring everything up to operating temperature.

    It Too Icy!!!

The cold weather is one thing - the ITS TOO ICY is really gettin to me!

We had snow flurries (not much accumulation) all day yesterday so there not a whole lot more snow, but it is SOOO Icy!

I did get to play 2 hours of tennis last night and have 2 more hours on Saturday. I'll throw some spinning on the trainer in on Sunday and call that good I guess.

You can have some from this native Texan. We have been stuck between 30-40 for a couple days. Add a nasty viral infection to the mix for DH and myself and you get two cranky Texans.

Just remember ladies we get 100+ temps for most of the summer.

    Hang in there Fly!

Live vicariously through us! Today, it's unexpectedly sunny. We just left the gym and it's 44. Maybe today will be a 40 miler!

I would be happy for zero. That sounds warm right now.

Sun is out today so hopefully it will warm it up a bit otherwise it is going to be a cold ride!

Yeah, I agree that "too icy" is much worse than just cold!! Makes it hard to do outdoor exercise, and doing stuff inside is just NOT the same.

You just need a good pair of studded tires on your mountain bike or yaktrax on your shoes and your good to go!

So, after spending 6 months in the shop last year to get the heater repaired...I decided to drive the Red Benz to Home #1 this weekend.

Driving back, it's 10 degrees w/30 mph winds...and while decent, there's nothing warm about driving a 40 yr old hard top convertible in that kind of weather (the broccoli in the trunk froze...just 12 inches behind me).

So, I walk shivering into Home #2 to find the furnace is not working and the temp is 48 degrees (without Silver to keep me warm!!!)

YUCK! Spring? SPRING? SSPPRRIINNGG!!!!! WHERE ARE YOU?

After two hours, I have the temp up to 54.4 degrees from two hours of space heaters. Yeah! Yippee!

You got up to 10? Whatcha complaining about? We never even hit 0F (-17C)today. Roads were icy because we've had so much snow and the salt stops working turning the wet to ice. While we don't have the snow cover of Flybye, we're in a snow/freeze cycle--heavy snow followed by freeze followed by heavy snow followed freeze. Thank goodness periodically we get a thaw so some of the snow we've piled up can decrease. I'm getting really, really tired of "cross training" by snow shovelling.

Spring? Hello, Spring? Where are you?!?!?!?!!?!?!?! I have a purr-ty new Waterford that would like to see the roads, but we're afraid you've left Winter in charge forever!!!!!
