    Climbing Club - May Goals

Time to post those goals for May.

Im afraid I didn't get in either of my two goal rides for April so I will keep that as my goal for May. Lets hope I get in a little more riding in May than I managed in April.

    Lets hear them.

I hope to get in less than April. Maybe 25,000 feet.

Mine's a very modest goal: to get to the top of "my" hill without taking a break anywhere along the way to catch my breath, my heart rate, and find my legs again! I'm getting closer!

When I can do that, I'll start working on doing it twice in one ride!

I'll go with 20,000. No more crazy stuff after My Arizona Adventure.

    So how is everyone doing?

I accomplished my big goal - Central Coast Double. I'll probably finish up with 35,000+ feet for the month.

As of today, I think I am at about 12,500. My goal was 13,000, so with five days to go and barring unforeseen yuckiness of any kind, I will make my goal. In fact, I might end up more in the 15,000 range.

I think my goal was 25,000. I should be around 30,000, depending on what I end up doing tomorrow. I think my real goal was "less than April", which was a crazy month. So I achieved that.

Like you, Veronica, I did mine! It was a pretty minor one compared to things I see here -- just to get all the way to the top of "my" hill in one shot.

Good thing about it -- I'm doing better on ALL the hills I climb now that I've figured out how to climb "my" hill!

And I'm starting to wonder just how many feet I am logging -- I don't have a computer that can tell me that yet!

And so it begins. Don't get an altimeter unless you want to start climbing more than you ever thought you would!

Okey dokey - looks like I will be at 33,650 for the month as I don't expect to do much more outside riding this week.

    Lovely!

    Hi Everyone,
This is the first time I have set climing goals so I had a lot to learn. I had set out to make two climbs up the face of Buckskin and ride Garden Creek Loop. Well so far I did ride Buckskin (back side, longer ride) once and have not ridden Garden Creek. But I am learning how to use my garmin and have climbed 21, 000 feet so far. I hope to ride Garden Creek this week. It a beast!!!
I really had a great week of riding. I rode 138 miles this week but more flat than hills. Wed I rode 50, Saturday I rode 65 miles and a few other short rides. Hopefully June will have more climbing!!
