But there's an obvious solution to the entire problem: Make a second pie

Not only that, you could have your peice for quality control purposes of course. Then lovingly plate a large peice complete with acoutrement - whip cream, cheddar cheese, ice cream - thereby preserving the presentation, possibly even bettering the presentation of a whole pie.

Now next question - who here thinks it's just wrong to eat cheddar cheese with apple pie?

Then you find yourself unceremoniously stabbed by a stainless steel knife... carved up into neat slices... pieces of you torn apart...

Food is about preparation *and* presentation.
A piece missing ie cut and/or eaten out of a freshly baked pie - too obvious
You know the phrase je ne sais quoi? Well this is the opposite...everyone will sais quoi.

1) take staged photo shoot of pie in it's virginal complete unaltered state

quick before the crust goes pftttt.

2) post to TE

3) Stand by your man and take that slice of pie for quality control and because that first slice never slices as cleanly. You're multitasking, taste test and better presentation for him.
