Yikes I dont think Jo will want to push me up that many hills.

wow - if I had known what retro fashion mavens you were I would have given you the link for the various jersey design proposals Carlos came up with before this one. SF Rando folks were all asked to vote.

the SF rando 200k course is generally from the bridge to the Pt. Reyes lighthouse and back. tough course - no sustained climbs but enough rollers to make you work. last year it dumped rain. I didn't do the 200 but have friends who did.

davis' brevets actually have some support. SF's do not. brevets are "unsupported", but some series provide some food at controls and actual people to mark your card (different from the "safeway 600k" I did with SF where you have to buy something and get a time/dated receipt.)

Oh, no worries, they (you?) did a fine job, it's an excellent design.

Yeah, it looks like lots of fun. Well, I've determined I will do a 200K brevet next year - and the good news is there are at least 3 to choose from.

Altho the Davis one at the end of this month looks good in theory, no way in creation will I be ready for a 200 K in under 3 weeks.

    Hey Jobob,

The Oregon Randonneurs do a Populaire Series too. A Populaire is only 100K - I bet they'd even let you buy the jersey after one. But requirements for membership include fenders and webbed feet....

Jo, don't forget that we talked last year about riding a 200K permanent so we could pick our time and place. Like the Flatlander's Fiesta out of Davis with minimal climbing (and a club house). I think you could wear a SF Randonneur's jersey after that.

Im a bit excited about this. I dont care where or when we ride as long as its before I depart for Aust. Jo's idea so she gets to choose.

Well I'm hoping you'll do the SF one with me. I'm doing that series so if if something goes wrong, I've got some other choices.

Don't forget to mark your calendars for Paris in August. You're all coming to cheer me on... right?????

You know, I think the SF 200k route will be good. If they'd only post their darned dates, I could start planning what rides of theirs I am going to do. The weather is a crabshoot that time of year regardless of what ride you do.

SK's permanent idea is a good one, too. That "counts" for the R12 or whatever award. Get one done in January and you're 1/12 of the way there...
