168.8. Hopefully back on a roll. Although after two nights of eating out / socializing, I've got some serious work to do now!

I am back up...151 I am pretty frustrated. I have been trying pretty hard. I don't want to give up on my goal because I should be able to obtain it. It just gets discouraging sometimes. Okay...I just needed to vent. Thanks for listening.

ahhh this thread will be perfect.

i don't like talking weight with my roomie or mom since they both just complain and don't do anything about it.

anyway...i'm 5'4" ish, weight this morning after my ride was 147.6 down from 150ish last week.

Goal is around 135, where I was in high school (i'm 22 now). Really the goal isn't that important, it's more like just getting back in shape, and being able to do the 50+ miles a day I used to do.

When I remember I keep track of calories, weight and exercise on my ipod touch...lose it is a great little app.

I'm going to save Susan's post on my desktop so that I can read and re-read - incredibly well said and inspirational - thank you, sincerely.

reddDesign - did you want to be added to the chart? If so - a weight to start and a goal for May 1st is all we need.

redd - Are you sure? 135 would be 13 pounds in 18 days, which would require a calorie DEFICIT of more than 2500 calories a day.

One of the things we talk about alot on this thread is setting realistic and attainable goals - breaking it down into little chunks so that we can celebrate each small success as it comes along.

Far be it for me to tell you what to shoot for, but I fear you might be setting yourself up for disappointment if you don't reassess your short-term target.

Finally - Welcome to the thread! I think you'll find it a supportive bunch of women.

Wow, I totally came here to tell you guys that I didn't weigh this past week and that I was going to bow out for the rest of this challenge, but then I read Susan's post.
I credit her with inspiring me to get my lazy butt back on my bike and commute a couple of days a week when it seems so HARD (it's really not). Now am I going to have to credit her with inspiring me to get back at this? I think so!

I have struggled with my weight my entire life. I'm the heaviest I've ever been and I've pretty much been maintaining my current weight since we moved here to Oregon. I can look back and see all the places that I've let life derail my weight loss efforts, but the key is that I LET it happen. Life didn't do it to me...I let it get in the way.

Now, being realistic...I just can't put my weight loss efforts first right now. That doesn't mean that I can't make better choices every single time I put something in my mouth though. And while I cannot spare the 550+ minutes of vigorous exercise a week that I know it takes for me to lose at my top speed, that doesn't mean that I can't do better than I am doing right now.

I do have one small medical issue that I believe is hindering my efforts to lose weight. Ever since I started this 'thing', I've gained weight...slowly and steadily...despite many attempts to do something about it (and despite extended stretches where I was biking well more than 250 miles a week). I've been talking about taking care of this issue for a year now...it's time I did something about it.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you all again...you have once more inspired me to keep fighting the good fight.

(oh, and Susan, your bathroom looked plenty clean to me! )

I know the feeling..... I am on 3 meds that caused weight gain. Slowly it is coming down.

I feel like yo-yo - 153.6 Going to try a week without consuming any bread. That's my downfall I think. Have been going for daily 5 km walks before breakfast. It's good to see that lots of participants are having a good outcome from this challenge.

Tucker Cat - 15.875. His weight loss is slowing down. I don't think he'll make it to 15, but that was just a guess anyway. He's a much happier kitty I think. He was always pretty quick when he wanted to be, but now he's a real escape artist.

151 for me, down two pounds from last week.

Headin' out for a quick 30 minute run before work. It was pouring rain all night, but it's just stopped. Yay! I wasn't looking forward to running in the rain.

152 today. Yeah! After being at a plateu for three months, I had no idea that this amount of weight would come off in a short period of time. I need to hold steady for the next couple of weeks, because I'm traveling almost the entire month of May.

Sigh. Been fighting brochitis all week. Just a couple of 1/2 mile slow walks around the block for exercise. I'll be back on it next week, though.
