It turns out I have a great car to put my bike in... a Honda Odyssey. It fits perfectly.

I just need something to stabilize the bike while driving!
crud! i was going to post my pics but i can't get to the mdx site to get them!

i can post them tonight (unless the site comes up first! lol)

anyways... we use the saris traps... you can use just the fork mount bolted to the floor... but we got the track... and added 2 fork mounts and 2 wheel holders! the track is bolted to the floor (actually the door of the little gin in the floor) and then the 4 pieced slide along the track to get positioned!

    nice looking and neat!

plus the 4 pieces are removeble and you just have a practically flat "track" there... (we take the wheel ones out whenever brie is in the back!)

Your biggest challenge isn't someone else.
It's the ache in your lungs and the burning in your legs and the voice inside that yells "CAN'T".
But you don't listen. You just push harder.
And then you hear the voice whisper "CAN".
And you discover that the person you thought you were is no match for the one you really are.

that's it!!!!!!!!!! yep... you buy all the pieces separately!

(we have ours reversed of the pic... tires on the outside bikes in) but that's one of the nice things... they are moveable! unlike the fork mount only in the floor... THAT's the spot! with this... if you need to.. you can reposition the bikes... remove the thingy's! etc!)

i'll still post the pics if you want, after i get home.... so you can see how it looks in the vehicle!

Oh and do you use just any old stand for supporting your bike outside of the car? Actually, now that I think about it, you and hubby had your bikes on some neat-o stands at our group ride, didn't you?

lol! yes! we used to have just the one... but decided to start bringing them to the rides and they are SO much more convenient than trying to lean them on something (usually my car ) now those i don't know the brand name... my LBS had them! i was surprised to see a guy behind us last weekend using one!!!!!

what's nice is they come apart into two pieces so you can break them down to travel (you probably wouldn't have to break it down with just you and one bike! just "throw" it in the back!)

    back on topic

You borrow a stationary trainer from a friend to see if you can "ride" with you arm in a Sling!
You cosider it a good day when you put more miles on a bike than you do on a car

OK! i can get to my gallery now! phew!

looking into the back from the front seat

looking in the back from outside!

hmmmmmm i thought i had more pics uploaded than that... but then... that shows you both sides! lol! the rest of my gallery is just the outside of the car (when it was clean! )

then we pack our clothes, shoes, helmets, cooler, etc.... on the sides of the bikes!

you know you love cycling when ...

You are not a morning person but get up at 6 am on a day off so you can work a metric century in before heading to the lake

THEN telling the BF on another day that you are not going to go watch his ball game at 9 AM because it is too early

It's about the journey and being in the moment, not about the destination
