you might want to check your parameters mo3, it could be you've set them for indoor miles only or something........I"m not sure. If you still can't get it to work, email slantz - he's a really neat guy and he'll help you all he can.

as for the premier membership: I've been one since day one so I don't really know what the difference is between the 2......I do know you do Not have to have a premier membership to post there. I did it mainly because this was started by one guy to help him keep track of his miles against his buddy when the 2 of them moved apart. For awhile slantz was doing this basically out of his home and maintaining all the servers et al by himself. I think he has some help now from ppl on the board, but I still help him however I can.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"

I like bikejournal too, one of the first things I do after a ride is log my miles on there. It's great for tracking how I'm doing.

Every once in a while I also check out their forum, but I usually get kinda annoyed by some of the men who post there, typical male roadies! Too much testosterone and machismo.
It's only worth it if you're having fun

I agree with you completely. There is such a different atmosphere there.
Very challenging. So many times i will be reading a post and think; this guy is
really exaggerating, how annoying. You just don't get that macho bragging stuff here. The gals that do well don't have to embellish or challenge each other
and instead, are supportive. I have always been in male environments (Where I work there are 7 men to each woman) and at home (husband, 2 sons)
so i can't tell you how pleasant and comfortable this place (TE forum) is to me.

I feel bad - I haven't been keeping up this year - I forgot to enter anything. Would it be bad to just take a reading off my odometer for the year?

after i come back from a ride i log my miles there too.

it makes me feel good that i'm actually tracking miles and helping out TE's ranking at the same time.

I love BikeJournal. It is a great motivational tool and keeps me riding even when I would rather sit on my couch. Someday I hope to catch Bike Goddess! Everytime I get close she takes off again, the gap opens up and I feel the need to get back on my bike. I hope she does mind me chasing her!

Does our team mileage goal need to be increased?

You guys please let me know when I need to up the mileage goal for the club. I'm the administrator, but I only wander over to BJ every few weeks. Looks like we have some busy legs this summer!

I'd encourage folks to add route maps to the club area, too. I know we're spread out but some areas of the country have clusters of TE board members who don't necessarily ride together and are looking for new routes in their area.

It's pretty simple - just log in and go to the Team Estrogen club area. You'll see "add a route" down there.

The more complicated part is preparing the route to post (we're talking about either a text-cue sheet for a ride you've done or an image of a route map, like a PDF or JPG file). You either have to know where the route is stored on another website OR create the route on Google Maps (which will require you to have a Google ID to create and save the route map, I believe).

I know, I know, this sounds complicated, but once you have it down, it's not too bad. Especially if you know another website (like your local cycle club) that has a route posted. Then you just pop that web address into the "add a route" slot and share it with the team!

If you're still having trouble, but really want to share your route, just PM me and I can try to help. Anyone else here who has more info on this, just chime in!

P.S. For an example, go to the home page and scroll down to Routes - just click on "View Routes" and it will show you all the routes posted for your neck of the woods (if you told them where you live when you registered).

I've been a member ever since May of 2003. I became a premier member as soon as I realized that I loved the site and wanted to help support it.

I use the same handle over there - so anyone can view my journal and witness how pathetic my year has been so far:

I'm obsessive about tracking my mileage. This was the first year that my mileage hasn't increased over the previous year, so I've had to adjust my mindset and just be happy that I'm still riding and track the small accomplishments, like my improving speed up hills. That's the drawback of tracking everything - when I'm not improving it really gets to me.

I bought one of their jerseys when they first came out. It's one of my favorites.

Yup! That's the one. I had the elastic taken out of the hem, though.

I think I actually pre-ordered it, back when they were still deciding if they had enough interest in the jerseys.

Great pics! I entered the contest too. Had a really hard time getting a good picture of me. Tried to get an "action shot", but my husband was having a hard time with the digital camera's delay between pressing the button and taking the shot. We got a lot of shots when I was only partially in the frame - and I was riding as slowly as I could without falling over.

Then I tried posing with my bike, kinda like your first shot. But when I looked at the shots later, my shoulders were hunched up by my ears in every one. I finally used a little "candid" my husband took with me and my cat. It's on my profile on the bikejournal website.
