Emily, thanks for the update - I've wondered where you went. What a year 2005 was for you but it sounds like you came out of it in a good place. The hiking sounds wonderful as does the time you spent with your hubby doing it. I'm glad you got back on the bike - and dirt is good To me that's one of the beautiful things about riding mountain bike - no traffic!

Keep us posted and it is wonderful hearinf from you again.

Great to hear from you, Emily. I remember your posts, not just from here but over at the Terry forum too (before it got hijacked). Glad to hear you're back on your bike. I was off mine for a while, too, though I didn't have nearly the traumas you've been through; but I remember that re-Eureka moment when I remembered that on the bike is where my whole self--body, mind, soul--wants to be. Brava!

Oh, Emily. I can't tell you how happy I am to see you back! I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes! I have thought of you often - especially last week, when I drove down I-85 past your little town. I am so very happy you're back riding & have found another way to do what you love. And also happy to learn you've found a love of hiking with your dh!

    Welcome back!

I don't think anyone's mentioned it yet, but there is a new mountain bike section now at TE. I have been posting many questions which they have been patiently answering. I want to do a bike camp in August.

best news I've heard all day!

Emily, so good to hear from you! You've been in my thoughts, too - missed your enthusiasm and unbounded support for other riders. There's an old Holly Near song that came to mind as I pictured you smiling on your mtn bike...

since first I was my mother's daughter,
and you just can't take my dreams away."

Hi Emily, I saw someone with panniers like yours (front and back) today, and thought of your avatar. Welcome back. Glad to hear the dirt was a fun place for you to start up again. Lise

    Emily, WELCOME! WELCOME! WELCOME! BACK!!!!!

I cannot tell you how many times I have come to these boards and wondered how you were doing. I remember your last post and just thought if we would ever see you here again.

I am so happy to hear you are doing better. You are taking baby steps and you know that is fine. Do whatever you feel most comfortable with. It is just good to see you here again!!!!!

Talking Thanks everyone for the wonderful welcome backs!!!

Wow, it was great hearing from each and every one of you. I am truly touched. I will try not to be a stranger, though I am incredibly busy at work right now and don't have quite as much "forum time" as I used to, but I sure love it here. I really have missed you great women!

    Thank you so very much.

    Emily

P.S. JoAnn, have you fully recovered from your injuries!? I hope so!
