That's 2005. Nice elevation profile! I started out being very concerned about the routes- but the typiclly weren't published until the week of the ride. Then I would carefully study them on yahoo maps turn by turn, and plot them on google pedometer.

    3. Floor Pump
    4. Computer
    5. Polar bottle
    6. Cue Clip
    7. Tubes
    8. Patches
    9. Helmet and Mirror and Helmet Light
    10. Bike shoes
    11. Bike socks
    12. Gloves (Two Pairs)
    13. Jersey (Bolero if chilly, jacket if cold)
    14. Shorts (and knickers if chilly, winter tights if cold)
    15. Succeed Electrolytes
    16. Shuffle or Nano
    17. Zip locks (for maps, cue sheets, money, brevet card, waterproofing phone, camera in emergency, keeping clothes dry in the rain)
    18. Cell phone (waterproof case if rain likely)
    19. Rain Gear- jacket, pants, toe covers, helmet cover
    20. Sunglasses (sometimes case, usually I tuck them in my aerobars when not wearing)
    21. Reflectors (Ankle and Arm)
    22. Snacks: bars, choc milk, sushi
    23. Sport Beans
    24. Road ID
    25. Money for along the way
    26. Map/Cue Sheet/Card
    27. Sunscreen
    28. Bike Lock
    29. Trunk Bag
    30. Head Lights (second set if needed)
    31. Taillights (three multi-LED lights)
    32. Illuminite Vest

I know, I know. Weather will be the determining factor. DH was a bit stunned last night when I told him about the specifics. I assured him I have a back up chaperone if I run into trouble (he and the kid will be out of phone range and my friend Holly has agreed to be on phone standby. She does employee assistance for Wells Fargo - bank robbery counselling, etc., so she'll be good if I need brevet SAG counselling.).

Thanks for the list, and your earlier suggestions and the report and the inspiration. I am seriously so impressed by what you did - and your attitude about it is also amazing. Thanks for the encouragement.

Nanci, you are amazing and a real inspiration. I hope to be 1/4 the rider you are when I "grow up."
