    ... and don't settle too soon. She's under no obligation to finalize a settlement for some time. I don't know what OR law is, but I think I had two years to settle here in WA. The other person's insurance would like you to think otherwise I'm sure. Their job is to pay out as little money as possible. I'm referencing injuries, not bike damage. Soft tissue stuff can take a while to either manifest or heal.

    and don't assume because the injury seems minor that it won't be an ongoing problem... I still have problems with my ankle from 5 years ago and at the time I was barely aware that I'd injured it

    +1 to all of that ... still having a lot of trouble from the fall 14 months ago after which I brushed myself off and finished the interval on pace ...

    So definitely don't take or sign anything for at least a couple of weeks, or if there's ANY question at all.
