Heh...biathlon is XC skiing and shooting... I think Aquabike is the swim/bike multisport event. It's definitely too danged hot for a biathlon (as much as I gripe about Winter, snow would be sorta welcome, right now).

    Love it!
Love those fatbikes, too. No use for them here, but in sand and snow... (and apparently ocean)- ahhh...

Oh - that looks like fun! Hard work, though. Water bottle might be necessary. The lake water sure isn't drinkable. They've closed a lot of the beaches on the Wisconsin side of the lake.

Yeah, he's not about to drink it. He actually rode from our house (about 4 miles away), then rode up and down the beach a bit, then we put his bike on the car for the trip home. He's gotta to take things apart a bit to clean all the sand out, now.

Wow. My husband is pretty crazy but in a different sort of way. Yours is, ummm, unique. Gotta love a guy who makes you laugh.

That's what I was thinking: "oh, all that sand in the drivetrain. So not fun to clean out.". At least its not salt water!

Perfect bike for the adventure, tho.

Is that a Pugsley? What's the "Mukluk" in the title?

Mukluk is Salsa's equivalent of a Pugsley.

Zoom, that looks like tons of fun! They have a scene in Reveal the Path where they're riding fatbikes on the coast of Alaska...definitely something I'd like to try someday.

Mukluk is to Pugsly as Salsa is to Surly. I believe the Pugsly is steel, while the Mukluks are aluminum or titanium. There are lots of fatbike models around, now, but I think the Surly Pugsly may have been sort of the first one. We have a company near us (616) that also makes a fatbike. They even have a fatbike tandem!

I'm gonna have to make sure my husband doesn't see that video so he won't come up with his own hairbrained stunt!

LOVE my Mukluk. You can ride them anywhere you want. No need to wait for winter or the beach. One of the most comfortable bikes I have. Not the fastest or the most agile, but tons of fun and goes over everything.

    Video was great!
