    Yeah - that's what I need - a tapeworm

(Just kidding! What I need is less stress, more focus. Am taking steps to accomplish both of these - but it will get worse before it gets better).

Be careful what you wish for. I was channel surfing the other night and came across some medical show on TV. The disease of the week was seizures caused by tapeworms eventually settling into the patient's brain. The worms were too far into the brain to be surgically removed, and they were going to treat the seizures with drugs - anticonvulsants I imagine. How much of it was true vs enhanced/made for TV I don't know but even if only half of it is realistic, it sounds pretty gruesome.

Oh it's true..... I've seen thing in tropical disease books (that docs brought me to have slides made from) that would give you nightmares..... Someone at work just last week told me about seeing an xray (or maybe an MRI or CT not sure exactly which) of a kid with worm casings in her brain....

I also seem to remember hearing a really bizarre story about a guy who had a stroke or an aneurysm, but didn't know it because he'd had a parasitical brain infection for years..... his brain to overcome the deficits from the parasites had been duplicating all of its functions on both sides for years so when he had this other brain injury he didn't lose any functionality... don't quote me on that one though- I can't remember where it came from and I may have some of the details wrong...
