I'm thinking hard about not doing my race on Sunday. The forecast now is for heavy rain, possible thunderstorms and temps in the low sixties. This is essentially a "practice" race for me. I was hoping to see some huge improvement from the last time I raced it in 2008. But otherwise it was mostly just to do a run through. I have another race on June 18.
I REALLY don't do well when it's cold. We have had such a cold spring and with precipitation so much later into the year. Current water temps at the reservoir are 61.Cold just makes me weak.
If I don't do the race, I can do an indoor brick tomorrow and get right back into my regular training schedule instead of having a week of recovery.
I guess I just don't see the point in being miserable doing something that is not a goal. And it's not like I haven't worked through terrible weather in the past. My last double century was in the pouring rain. But it was worth it to accomplish the goal.
