Ouch! Make sure you clean it thoroughly so it doesn't get infected.

No Mother's Day ride for me yesterday.
I had my grandson for the day. I wanted to take him out for a ride with him in the trailer, but it was too cold and windy.
I will brave the elements by myself, but I am a lot for careful when I am with him.
Played in the house with him all day instead. Even if I don't get to ride, when I am with my grandson, I have fun.

It was a lovely day here but a bit windy. My friends came over and we did a tempo ride of 22 miles first thing in the morning.

I was beautiful here, so while the kids were at church with my parents hubby and I set out on an easy recovery ride. We biked Memory Grove and half way up City Creek Canyon in Salt Lake on Saturday. I was really sore because I took my first dive on the bike. I wanted to get out yesterday because it was so nice. Half way through our 15 miler I got a flat. Hubby had issues with the tube, so he had to ride home and get the car. Kinda sad the ride had to end early, but at least I got out and enjoyed the great weather.

A Mother's Day ride with my daughter! She got a ride most of the way to her dad's house where we met for lunch and to celebrate my son's birthday. Then her bike went in my car and we went to my apartment. I lubed her rusty chain and discovered that her bottom bracket was loose, so I pulled it out to get the specs to replace it. Then we rode down the bike path to her apartment in the city, and I turned around and rode home. About 2.5 hours of riding for me. She said her bike rode much better with the chain lubed! I encouraged her to get some spray lube and lube it weekly since she keeps it outside.
Oil is good, grease is better.

Great Day! Rode with my older son (8) and my daughter (4). Since Taylor was on her bike we couldn't go far or very fast. But we had fun. Then dropped Taylor off at home with Daddy and baby brother. Matt and I went on to Safeway to get sugar. We got home then made Freezer Jam (YUM). Finally, we loaded up the baby in his stroller and walked to the dollar store then walked down to Safeway again to get the lids for my canning jars. I made chicken pot pie earlier in the day with the kids, and it turned out fantastic! (I'm not a cook so this really is a hi-light)
Probably the best mothers day ever! The weather was fantastic, had a great time with my kids and got to spend some time in the saddle.

    No bike ride
Spent the weekend cooking for our rowing club at a two day regatta in FL.
The regatta ended at noon on Sunday. Hubby and I cleaned up, said good-bye to the rowers and went back to our campground. The vans of rowers drove back home on Sunday but we stayed until Monday.
We are thinking of purchasing kayaks so we tried to rent some at the campground. They were all out and we settled for a canoe. Hubby put me in the back for the first time and I found out I can't steer! We switched places and he steered us peacefully back to the dock.
With my schedule for the week I will not get to ride until Thursday.

    Mommybird,
Kayaks are a canundrum?! When you're biking, you wish you were in the kayak. When you're in the kayak, you wish you were biking. Our solution is bike in the morning, kayak in the afternoon (I pack a lunch, paddle to the middle of the lake, and let DH paddle circles around me), NAP

    NY biker,
I was thinking more along the lines of, "Do you want a cat?" (Just kidding--I would miss the little brat! And she was mad at ME for the rest of the day--Sheesh........)
