First big MS training ride for me - 40 miler. Very muggy today. But we finished before it started raining real hard. Got to admit, I like road miles better than levee miles. And today the lungs cooperated.
But now I'm beat. I want a nap.

I did an fairly easy out and back again 30 miler. Got my first compliment though. I was sitting at at traffic light about an hour 30 into ride, when this guy pulls up beside me (I had passed him while he was fiddling with his water bottle) and said, "You sure don't let grass grow, do you?" He then proceeded to tell me how he was pacing off me and was thrilled to see his average speed go up. I was riding a pretty good clip, so I was thrilled to get this compliment.![]()

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

So, DH and I ride downtown many weekends to meet one of his friends for coffee, and yesterday was no exception, except that the coffee shop was swamped, so the guys got margaritas at the mexican restaurant next door instead.
The decision was made to wander off to some other mexican-type restaurant/bar for more margaritas, and I started thinking that the end result of the ride was going to be me riding home and bringing back the Durango -- drinking, sunshine, hot weather....
Anyway, somewhere along the way, as I pulled up behind the guys (following cuz they knew our destination and I didn't) I hear -- I bet you're glad you got Karen into this bike riding stuff, right? Yeah, well, she's still pretty good anyway...
The point was that we were biking to bars instead of driving, so neither of them had someone to be the designated!
