We met this little guy on our ride today...
We did an 85 mile ride today, an STP training ride. The first 50 miles were through farm and horse country (Duvall, Fall City, Snoqualmie River Valley), and were just flat out gorgeous. We took a lot of little back roads. It looked like this:

On one of those back roads, we saw this:

We didn't want to spook them, so we approached them very gradually.

Their owners clearly take good care of them, because they were not at all shy and quickly approached the fence to see if we had anything to give them. Thinking they would not care for Perpetuem, nose rubs were all we could offer.

The baby gave the tiniest, highest-pitched whinny I have ever heard. And I have never before seen such delightfully knobby knees.
The cute meter---off the charts. What a nice day.
"My predominant feeling is one of gratitude. I have loved and been loved;I have been given much and I have given something in return...Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and an adventure." O. Sacks
