We did an 85 mile ride today, an STP training ride. The first 50 miles were through farm and horse country (Duvall, Fall City, Snoqualmie River Valley), and were just flat out gorgeous. We took a lot of little back roads. It looked like this:

We didn't want to spook them, so we approached them very gradually.

Their owners clearly take good care of them, because they were not at all shy and quickly approached the fence to see if we had anything to give them. Thinking they would not care for Perpetuem, nose rubs were all we could offer.

The baby gave the tiniest, highest-pitched whinny I have ever heard. And I have never before seen such delightfully knobby knees.
