Veronica sed "I love this site.... And I've got the added bonus of getting to ride with some of these people. "

I know this is just weird.

I've long ago given up trying to figure out "why is this site different from all other sites", forgive the small Jewish pun...I'm on a other boards (who am I? where am I?) they are ok but never in a million years would I try to meet up with any of those people.

TE is different, Spazzdog arrives sight unseen from Boston and stays at my hovel, somone says "let's ride" and off I go with people I know by user id's, Bike Goddess wants a tentmate for a week-okie dokie, no one tries to steal my kidney ;-)

Somehow we all find this spot. Every day I learn something new, laugh, cry a bit. TE is great but it's the members that make it so.

Not only am I moody right now...but now I am a blithering idiot!!! (is there a PMSing smiley?) Who has the kleenex box...pass it this way!!!

Julbee...you are a beautiful inspiration!!! and your husband is a catch!

My mother lived in chronic pain for years...fortunately hers was fixed through a series of surgery. I could not imagine living with it on a daily basis.

I have struggled with self-esteem (if you will) & confidence and cycling is bringing me out of that...it is truely a sport with amazing benefits for everyone!!! I am so happy you found it and your husband have joined in on the fun

As for this "team" it is awesome! and addicting!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Julbee. You just can't say enough nice things about this forum! All the shared advice and encouragement continue to make such an impact on every aspect of my riding life. Corsair told it true - I don't feel like I'm riding alone because of the women on this board. Say, don't we need an emoticon with big tears coming out of her eyes??

Oh yes, so right. All of you come along in spirit when I ride. I can't tell you how many times I've been out on the bike and thought about Emily. Ever since her horrific crash caused by the dog I make sure I take her along in spirit. I figure if she can't be out on the road at least her spirit is...guess I ought to have let her know that.
Ever notice that 'what the hell' always seems to be the best decision?

You just did. Thanks - that means a lot.

I knew you wonderful ladies were sending me lots of strength, because I feel fantastic lately. I'm down to one crutch for walking as of today's PT appt. and even did the easiest Spinervals tape tonight ("Team Clydesdale"). Baby steps, but I am getting there.

    and the FANS go WILDDDDDDDDDD

wooohoooooooooooooooooo EMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!! Keep it up hun!!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"
