My husband and I don't exchange Chanukah gifts; in fact we barely celebrate it at all, since the kids have grown up. But, he did order me a black Ibex full zip Shak when I casually mentioned that it was on sale (thanks to a post on TE) and it came Tuesday.
I've worn it 3 times already!

I have to add a dishwasher to the list. It went out just after we installed the new stove. Ok, not bike related but I had to vent somewhere.

Smile Thank you, Santa! Thank YOU, TE!

Santa was terrific to me this year: new tires and tubes, including installation on my road bike Christmas morning. Followed by a 20-mile ride on Christmas afternoon through a beautiful river valley about 90 minutes west of our town---with my darlin' furball Samantha in tow in her trailer, pulled by "our" BF.

AND, to top it off, I logged my coveted 2000th mile for the year on the ride!!! Woooooohoooooo!

This is perfect time to thank TE's regulars for a never-ending supply of inspiration and advice! Thanks to you I set an ambitious goal of 2000 miles (ambitious for me)...and thanks to all of you (and a bunch of maniacal pedaling on my part), I made it!

A cycling jersey...actually from the same store that I bought his cycling jersey for his gift. We were each trying squirrel away our purchases without the other knowing.

I also got him the latest British Columbia book for the Trans Canada trail. Boy, that paperback book is heavy..for trips. PHotos are helpful,..but gee.

Son and DIL gave me a set of MTB levers for the Soma Sparrow bars I plan on getting as soon as they are back in stock in mid-January, and the Park Spoke Tension Meter so I can finish my first wheel build. (I am totally tone deaf and have spent the last 6 months trying to figure if my wheel is evenly tensioned, this is the only way I am going to know.) Also, my daughter gave Dan and me a car GPS, and I can use it when I go on longer rides.

We are pretty cycling stocked but still got a lot of small cycling stuff:
    • Both got gift cards to REI, probably won't get cycling stuff though
    • Both got small gift cards to the LBS, probably replinish lube and tubes with them
    • I got socks, a hand pump and Harley Davidson Jacket that will work for cycling
    • DH got a bunch of tools one to change a cassette on my bike- SWEET! He also got a sproke wrench, bottom bracket puller and three way hex wrench. Still needs that torque wrench, maybe that is his Valentine's Present.
    • Resource Revival tea lights for our bike bathroom. He got a resource revival clock for his desk, bottle opener and key chain. Cool stuff!
    • DH got new cycling sunglasses, Spokelits, a Mountain Biking wall calendar and a bell for his mountain bike

    Hi All,
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays! I got 2 pair of smartwool socks (for chilly riding) and Mom, Sis, and Partner gave me $$ to make payments on Quinn. I was very touched by that. they don't understand the obsession with cycling but they support me and told me that's why they did it. I would have been happy if they'd have just told me that!

I got Ortlieb front and rear panniers and fenders for my touring bike. I also got a Park chain cleaner and a Park multi-tool. I also got some packing cubes for the panniers. DH and I are about outfitted for touring. I can't wait to try all the goodies out on a tour.

Cycling, non cycling...not a thing. I gave myself a GARMIN NUVI GPS. To hell with them..I'm hitting the road with my faithful companion..my Westhighland White terrier.

Specialized neoprene winter gloves !!! I got some really nice non-cycling-related things, but I was ridiculously excited to open these gloves! They'll be like toasty wetsuits for my sweaty (and frozen numb) hands.
