Might be kinda nifty to cross your arms every time you want to apply the brakes! Cross-hand braking could become the next big thing and you'd be famous.

As for the brakes whatever fits you best. Check out what my LBS did on similar bars, think it's pictured on post #7 here.

They are below the bar and ever so slightly turned in. It's incredibly comfortable, seems to just fit right in the hand. I have teeny tiny mousey paws so anything else would be tough.

Trek, while that option seems like it would work it just doesn't seem right. I'll see how this feels then decide how to tweak.

While it does not seem right, it feels right. For me it's as if my fingers just fall right on the brakes. The trick seems to be that the brakes are ever so slightly tweaked inward, not just below the bars.
