Thanks every one for the support. After I got done feeling sorry for myself (which took until midmorning today), my daguhter and I came up with a plen!
Tomorrow morning, DH and I are getting up and doing our own Tri. We'll swim the scheduled distance at the "Y" then bike a slightly longer and hillier route than was planned, then do a 5K, ending at our house. The real inspiration is my 5 yo, who was almost as dissappointed as me. She spent this evening making signs of encouragement and hanging them around the house.
I'm going to time the race, and try to have breakdowns of each leg, but I definately won't have transition times.
