    Thanks! That's a picture of myself on my 2 1/2 month-long 50th birthday "ride across the country" celebration back in 2002 - I stopped to stare at the beautiful mountains and ended up talking with another traveler for a bit, and I was very lucky that he was a good photographer. It's hard to get good pictures of yourself when you're traveling alone!

    Anyway, I took my big picture and opened it with Adobe Photoshop Elements, then requested a Save for web and gave it the maximum size that our avatars can be. Not too bad, but I really like the the small version of the full picture (as stored in my smugmug photo gallery better:

    hmmm....maybe I'll try that next then. I was saving for email and then trying to "reduce" it. Since it's SNOWING in New Mexico (insert fowl languague here) I guess I'll be trying it again tonight!
