This morning I woke up to...

11 pounds of kitten lying draped across my neck. I tried to go back to sleep with him there, but couldn't. He is such a deep sleeper, it was hard to wake him up. Then he settles in next to my head and starts purring. He has the loudest purr I have ever heard.

This wakes up my other kitten and she comes up to snuggle and purr too. Then they decided they needed to have a wrestling match... and one - or both of them - keeps bringing toys into the bed.

    Kittens... so much fun!

I'm not owned by any cats, but that sounds like a whole lot o' kitten to me! And probably just as challenging as the 90-lb. chocolate lab who galumphs onto our bed to snuggle on chilly evenings.

I go to sleep that way, and wake up that way. With usually four cats. Four cats weighing 15+ pounds each.
In between I sleep curled up like a pretzel to avoid disturbing them and getting The Look.

    Cats....

We knew he was going to be a big boy - his paws were huge and he had these long gawky legs when we got him in December. He's about 6 months old now. He's filled out, but he's still my baby boy.

Ever since he got over his UT blockage my male kitty has reverted to one of his kitten habits and insists on sleeping under the covers with me every night.....

Brandi, what cute pics...My Smokey likes to curl up around my head these days and 'share' my pillow and then paw me as he purrs himself to sleep. Unfortunately, this wakes me up while I am trying to grab his paws. I need to learn how to clip his claws and I need to do that soon....

If I didn't wake up every morning with my #15 boy either on my chest, on my pillow, or snuggled with me..I would be devastated..

They are so cute!!!! Now I need to ask but you said your boy is 11 pounds? Have you had a Dr look at him recently? Just in case there is a maybe thyroid thing going on. Just asking not saying that is it. But 11 pounds wow! Can you post new picture's of what they look like now?

When they went in for all their shots, the vet said he was fine. I think he's leveling off in his growth. He's been 11 pounds for a few weeks now. His energy level is high and his feces look normal. I know because whenever I go to scoop their box, he feels compelled to do business.

He's just a big boy and not at all fat.

Thom needs to replace his SLR camera before we can get decent pictures of them in action. He's tried with the regular digitals we have, but Tucker is a very fast mover.

This morning I woke up to....

My 6-toed cat Petey playing with what I thought was one of his toy mouseys. I had put my hand down where he was near my knees and felt the little fur ball with a tail. Then I realized that I was hearing crunching! I put my hand down again and found a headless, 1-legged, real mouse!! EEEeeekkkk! I tossed it to the floor. Petey jumped right on it and kept crunching. By then my dh was awake. I ran to get a Kleenex to dispose of the carcass. Petey has his own door to the outside world. My dh said that the mouse must have explained why he was so hyper last night before the 2 of them came up to bed. Beware of crunching sounds in the night!
Tis better to wear out than to rust out....
