4 miles on the treadmill again, after an hour's bike on the trainer. It's snowing again so I'm inside.

I've done a the first week of my triathlon training plan without messing up. Yay!

teigyr, i'm horrible about washing stuff so it wouldn't surprise me if they did shrink! the outer layer is like wool type stuff and the inner lining is poly. The reason I think they shrunk is because the liner is sticking out from the bottom, so it seems like the top layer shrunk. At least that's what I'm telling myself!

And congrats on the quick recovery during your hill run. Back before I hurt myself, it was so weird because I really enjoyed hill runs, it would suck while you were ascending but it felt soo good on the downhill.

    Hi girls,
I did a swim run workout combo today. It seems to work really welll for me. I must get really warmed up in the pool and then it hurts less to run.

I came home from the pool and did a 1/2 mile circut, slow on flat, hard up a hill, slow down the hill fast on flat. Repeated 5 times and cooled down. It was good.

Stretch, roll, ice, dinner, Deadliest Catch on the VCR and I am still hungry....

Giving blood for the very first time tomorrow morning, so no workouts tomorrow or Friday.

Teigyr - sounds to me like you have a really great training plan that's starting to fall into place.

I got to run a 3 mile time trial today. 22:57. I'm happy, my leg is good, I'm aware of it but no pain and I ran hard enough to get a little pukey. That's always a good sign.

4.6 mile free run (I like the sound of that.) I kept a decent pace, but my legs felt like stones - partly because it was near high tide and the sand was soft-ish; partly because of a rather hard ride yesterday; probably mostly because I've been really stressed out and drinking too much the last few nights.

Today's theme on the beach: a bientot to the beach. Last run here before we head north. Another beautiful day; there was some wind but I really didn't notice it because it was mostly over my shoulder. I passed a woman who, to my not-so-educated eye, had really nice form, and as I got closer I could see that she had BEAUTIFUL footprints. I wanted to say something to her but wasn't sure how she would take it

Wow!!! That is fast. To think I was happy about my 26 min 2.5 mile tempo run...but then again I did walk the last 8th of a mile just to cool down a bit. Between the warm-up and cool-down, I think I was under a 10 min mile!!!

Yes. A WONDERFUL training plan that is coming into place though sometimes I don't realize it. Sometimes I think I've made no progress at all and I have to step back and realize a couple of months ago, I couldn't have done any of this. So, yeah. It's all good!!!

Kimmyt, it sounds like it was the laundry. I'm one of those people who fluctuate a lot with puffiness and I hate playing the "will these pants fit me today" game. Grrrr.....anyway, you have an excuse

5km with the kids today. Felt pretty good, better than Tuesday. Only did 3 minutes of walking in 35 minutes. Getting there slowly.

I was able to get all my planned workouts done this week. My ankle is still a little touchy when doing lateral movements, but walking and running doesn't hurt. Today I got my long run of 10 miles done. I live in SF where there are hills everywhere. Today I almost made it the 1.3 miles back up to my apartment from sea-level. It's a consistent climb the whole distance with some segments that are pretty steep. I've always had to stop and take a break or walk a bit, but I kept on chugging today and felt okay (must be the speed work I've been doing). Of course, my garmin beeped that I was at 10 miles about .15 miles from my front door, and I took the easy way out and cooled down the rest of the way. But now I know I could do it! I'm thinking I should run the hill on purpose every now and then for a good workout!

Another 4 mile treadmill run today...I'm beginning to sound like a broken record here, but at least I'm getting a few runs in. Just enough to maintain fitness, no increases. That's okay -- just too much going on my life right now: puppy, super busy time at work, back to spring mountain bike rides when I can manage them, gardening..... I love spring!

I managed another 3.2 miles today as part of a brick workout. I'm really pleased with how my leg has behaved this week.

Congrats to everyone for getting out there in spite of busy schedules and various aches and pains!!

Congrats to me too and my ridiculous shin pain?

Think a sports specialist will take me seriously? I am contemplating going there.

Alpine - I'm gonna PM you. I just haven't had a lot of time. But yes a sports specialist will take you seriously. I just got over a serious bout of shin pain, it took nearly 6 weeks of almost no running and weekly deep tissue massage, leg strengthening exercises and stretching to make it fade away. More later.

First run outside yesterday! I went 7.3 miles in 72 minutes. My back and legs were sore but my foot was fine. Yay.
