Man, I just get a big kick out of that tree one every time I see it.

The MHC 200k route should definitely be doable - I totally think you can do it. The support is good; you don't have to carry all your food because they transport it. Definitely get up the mountain and see how you feel. Be sure to start plenty early - give yourself as much cushion as possible.

    Thanks !

Nina & MTK, we actually rode a lot of the same route along Highway 1 we (err - you ) covered in the Waves to Wine ride, just heading in the opposite direction.

When I was out of the headwind - and hence was able to think again - I was reminiscing about the fun time we had that weekend.

That, and the fact I'm a heckuva lot stronger now than I was that weekend, thank goodness!

Jo, I'm glad you're feeling back "up to snuff". Remember, you did the part of W to W I didn't do - the hard part!! (OT, but it actually took me several more months to get my left hip back to normal.) Doing that route up-wind must have a real grind. As I recall, the downwind run was great. I think I hit 33 mph on the flat with the wind's help. Again, congrats, and "hi" to Leebob too.
