Zen, no need to be embarassed. If anyone understands bike love, I think, we of TE do.They're kind of like strays, aren't they? It's hard to say no to a bike that needs a loving home.
Just think of the selling of your mixte as passing the bike love around.

You'll love the FX - I have one too and it is a great commuter for me. I bought a Ruby this year and every time I get on her I feel like I'm cheating on my FX. I try to reassure both of them they each have a special place in my heart - but that old poor mtb in the corner of the garage is definitely feeling neglected <sigh> so many bikes, so little time.
