Congratulations! I'd love to hear about your trip as you are traveling - are you planning to keep a journal?

for part of your planning, I for one would open my door and loan a shower to a bike traveling female.

hear hear Irulan. Theres a place in ABQ for you if you need a stopover (if I'm still here.) If not there's a place in Phoenix for ya!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"

Me too! If you happen to be biking through the Boston area, I always have room for a touring cyclist.

    Thanks for the offers, guys!

I'm taking your suggestion, Denise, and am planning on keeping a journal at crazyguyonabike.com (once it's published, it'll be at amphibious2005.crazyguyonabike.com).

Leila, You might also want to check out individual state Department of Transportation websites. Some offer good maps of cities or counties, in pretty good detail. And if you (or any other TEers) are biking through western NJ, you can also camp and have a shower here
