Thanks Firenze and star... Yeah, it's been quite a journey. But I think there are a lot of people on this board who have tales to tell.... Lot's of different life experiences out there. I just tend to post mine online..

I say pick a race and sign up. I KNOW you will be ready, because you will have a concrete goal. Right now you just have the desire, but there is no REAL carrot out there to get you seriously training.
If you know you have a race to do on XX day, you will be more likely to make sure that you get the training in..

Toronto Island is flat. Would be nice for a first. Hanlon's point is a blue flag beach. (Blue flag is an international standard for clean and safe beaches and water) - hard to believe if you're swimming in Lake Ontario.

Forcing my hand are you? I don't have a lot to choose from. Either Guelph 1,
(5/43/10-late June), Owen Sound (5/40/10-early August) for Olympic distance or Gravenhurst for International distance (10/40/5-mid July). I shall run those options by my coach. Pretty sure he'll want me to do Owen Sound as it is a World's qualifier. He has delusions of grandeur!!

That's great! Hey, if he thinks you can do it then what's the harm in trying, right? You never know!
