    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080125/..._mourners_sued

Unbelievable! Motorist traveling 100 mph in 55 zone strikes and kills teenage cyclist and sues the boy's parents for damages to his car.

I would like to call that man all sorts of names, but this is a clean board. He thinks his car is worth 1/2 of the young man's life. Disgusting......

I think we can use the name "sociopath", even on a family forum such as this.
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.

Absolutely, that's exactly what I thought of when I read this. It's scary and sad to know that there are so many people like this who completely lack a conscience.

I can't believe people. Even though they found both parties at fault, the car clearly won. Shouldn't life be valued over a car?????

    Poor parents.

I'm kind of relieved that didn't happen in the United States - I'd hate to think our courts would even consider that kind of garbage. Hopefully, the Spanish court will whack the driver with a huge penalty for wasting their time.
