I'm gonna try to meet the 400 miles by Valentine's Day challenge.
I bought a 2nd computer for New Years, so now each of my bikes has one. Wanna keep track of mileage this year, and see what I actually do.

Welp, 6000 miles the first day... it's not as if it were going to fool anybody so I figgered it was an honest blunder - sometimes a goal ends up in the mileage spot or a decimal disappears.
Supposed to be 7 degrees tomorrow morning - I'll have one of those 'beat the temperature with your mileage' rides by the time I'm at work! Will have to stopby the hardware store for some of those hand warmer thingies to have in case I break down and have to fix something, tho' I suspect I'll use the cell phone and cancel a "car-free day" (one of the bikejournal challenges).

Way to go RoadRaven!!!
With a couple (few?) feet of snow on the ground and no knobbies, I've been relegated indoors. I just looked at the bikejournal website for the first time and didn't find an answer to the question lingering in my mind:
Can you log indoor/trainer miles on the journal? Or, are people only logging outdoor/riding miles? Just curious if there's some sort of journal etiquette that I need to know. Thanks!
You can log all kinds of mileage and users can chose whether to view all miles or outdoor miles only.
Raven - I'm gonna get you...![]()

Perhaps I'll have to catch you next week...(Don't have another roadie ride planned until Sunday.)

Hehehe...
Road rules (although I am becoming more and more enamoured of dirt... haven't entered those yet on BJ...)
Given that I'm waiting on both a new MTB frame and a new bike two sensor to arrive, it could be a few more weeks before I start logging dirty kilometres.

Arrrrggghhh!!!!!
I am only 4kms ahead of Diva!
About to lose my top placing in TE
Have to do LOADS of kms tomorrow!
That is all.

Well, I like being in 3d place because of alphabetical order. I had plans to ride Tuesday when it was 60 out, but the run off from the melting snow was awful. Even on my heavy Voodoo bike, (with no fenders), I wasn't really looking forward to it. There was hardly room on the street for cars.
Tomorrow is going to be in the high forties and clear. The snow is gone until Sunday night, so maybe a ride tomorrow.
You know, you have to go down to 91st place to find a club with fewer miles per ride than ours. What's up with that?? Are these guys for real? Doesn't anyone go out for 30-milers?
Yeah... I sometimes wonder at the miles some of these folks put in - the ones who are not professional cyclists and who have full-time jobs.
My partner puts in 400-600km (200-375mile) weeks most of the year - he has a handful of 300km (180miles) weeks when tapering before events, and maybe a month or two of 700km+ weeks (440mile+) when doing base training.
He can do this because we have a farm, and being self-employed he can fit work around cycling. in the middle of winter, he can bike in the middle of the day.
If I tried to do these kms on and hold down my full-time job - I would be getting up at 3/4in the morning, or biking in the evening/night. Maybe thats what these guys do?
Get riding RoadRaven! I'm off on holiday for six days - you could build an unassailable lead.![]()
