    august 5 Ride

Got out after church and went up to neely's corner (i-15 and Sierra). I actually made better time going up there than I have before. Yeah! I then snuck into a new developement:
I-15 going to the Cajon pass

and the back view of Cucamonga Peak:

A recovery ride after yesterday. I took my time out to the bay on the Alameda Creek Trail, eeked out about 11 mph into a very brisk headwind, keeping my heartrate down and my breathing steady. Then the return trip in the tailwind, 18 mph soft-pedalling, whee! 10 miles, 20 feet of climbing (overpass), almost 14 mph avg thanks to the righteous tailwind.

raced yesterday, went to 2 parties....yup two in one night...got home at about 2:30/3am..... got out of bed at 8:40.....raced at 9:50...... crazy, but the race was just up the street from my house and since I was out of bed....
Turned out really well, especially considering. I made it just in time to register, and take one practice lap. It was a short crit - just 25 min so it was doable. I took the first prime, one of my teammates took the second prime, and another one of my teammates took the win (I was 4th overall as well)

Very nice ride today with DH and sbctwin. We recon'd the metric ULCER. Nice flat ride (the only "climbing" was 4 overpasses), and I felt great even after my 80 miler yesterday. The last time I rode this much in 2 days was when I did the MS150 back in '01 or '02. Back then I was totally wiped out at the end of the 2 days, but today I felt like I could ride another long one tomorrow (but I won't ). It was fun riding with sbctwin again too!

New high for me - went out with the family this morning running errands for a few miles (and towing 70 lbs of kids in the trailer), then went to my book group and back. All told, about 15 miles for me today. It was a really nice day!
