Boring names for my rides- but they certainly all have them. Not-riders think I'm nuts.

MT bike- Miss Bike Also my Ebay name, so don't be messin with my tiara buyin' girls.

Ugly beater bike with bizarre paint- Ugly bike

Road Bike with pink and greenish color change paint- Road Warrior Barbie

Nicely broken in red Cherokee- Miss Jeep (first 100,000 miles!)

Redline BMX cruiser as yet unnamed. She's some sassy though.

YEah!! Just reading this thread, I FINALLY came up with a name for mine The SilverSurfer. Since its a sparkly metallic silver and I love the way I feel when I flow on the trails with it. I feel like I'm surfin' the dirt

    Ms. Calfee P

I have three bikes, one mountain which I rarely ride, a blue cannondale and a purple custom Calfee bike.

I have not named any of them but my friends call my new bike, my Calfee, Ms. Calfee P, because she (yes, it is a she) is purple.

My bike is a 1971 Schwinn Super Sport (that I have owned since I was a teenager) and her name is Betty. My husband never named his bike, so I named him Barney. He is a 1972 Schwinn Varsity!
We just recently took them down from the hooks in the garage and started riding them again. I love this site and we (yes, we!) are so glad to have found you!

I too have to vote for "Road Warrior Barbie" as best bike-name!

Too funny...do you have a Barbie strapped on as a mojo?

(Do they even make Barbie-sized helmets?)

they do make Barbie-sized helmets! at least, they did when I played with Barbies... it was bright pink and had about 5 vents
of course, she had a matching bright-pink bike, and I think her little sister kelly had a tricycle

    Betty and Barney?
Hmmm- either you watched the Flintstones a lot- or you were
    abducted by aliens!!!

Yay Schwinn- I have a 2002 Schwinn Mesa GSX that I was goona use as my commuting bike...but after riding it- it was finally ready---
I vote Ted as my everyday bike- and I'll use the Schwinn for singletrack...
maybe I'll call it Bamm Bamm....

Road Warrior Barbie is a racing bike, so no strapping on of mojos. If you saw this weird eighties paint though- you'd realize she doesn't need one! She's it.
Besides- my bikes have or are getting tiaras around the headtube, if I can stay uninjured long enough to finish that...
    That's VERY Barbie.

Kimba, my bike has always been Betty (and yes, I name all my cars too!). My husband never named his and since both bikes are so old, Barney seemed like the perfect name. Barney is so heavy he feels like he is from the stone ages!

My new specialized Allez.....I keep changing my mind........it's a she though. Currently, I call her "Flicker" because she's silver and white..........but I like to call her "Lilly" also, after the flower.

    My cannondale was "Lola"!

    Well-
I now rfer to my silver bike as Ted all the time.
Because- well, it's not like I can call him "the schwinn" or the "cannondale".
Because he is a VeloRazzo- and unless I name him something from Midnight Cowboy like Ratso Rizzo -
it doesn't trip lightly off the tongue...

    Hence the name "Ted".

However- my Schwinn Mesa GSX is now another matter entirely...

it is primarily black with red detail- red rims, a red front fender ( which may go depending on my whim)red and black grips, black components...black shocks...
and a nice spot of cream on the head tube.

so- several things come to mind- maybe something with black coffee and cream...

The Red and the Black is an X Files reference- oh yes, that's me- the media/pop culture maven...

or perhaps a black widow-ish name like Elvira <glint>

Yes- I believe she is a she- and I think Elvira is a good name.

    What do you think?

Ell VI rah! Bow, ba bow boww, Elll VI Rah! Now I've got that song stuck in my head!!

Cool name for the bike, though. Although, it sounds like "The Black Widow" might fit a little better.
