I wouldn't worry about whether the polar will fit. I'm pretty broad across the barrel and the basic polar fits me just fine. I doubt that you are any bigger than me. I really object to the way that it screams "morbidly obese! morbidly obese!" at me when I stumble across the BMI reading, though...

I know it all sounds pretty complicated but once you set it up and begin using it, everything begins to make sense. I have the Polar CS100 with optional cadence module so the display goes on my bike.

Straps are availale in Small. Medium and Large. Not only is the strap adjustable but it's elastic so getting a good fit shouldn't be an issue. I just slip it under a sports bra and forget about it.

Ha ha ha ha. My Calorie King desktop software shows my BMI every day. I'm labeled "very high risk." But I was really very pleased when it went from 40 to 39. Whoopie! Progress.

I think it partly depends on where you want to use it. If you want to use it at places other than riding, you would probably do well with the more basic model.

I have the cheapest polar which I got at wally world. I actually got it for use at the gym, not on the bike. The strap on it is extremely adjustable and it is easy to use.

    HTH,
