    Acquired a New Skill

I acquired an important and useful new skill on my ride this morning, though I still need to perfect it.

It was 35 degrees at the start of the ride. When it is cold, my nose becomes a veritable gusher, much more so than anybody I ride with.

I learned how to blow snot-rockets.

Woo hoo! It is defnitely a skill. I blow them, but sometimes my jersey takes the brunt of the "fallout."
As first I thought that was just about the grossest thing I'd ever seen, but now I know it's the only option. My nose just can't compete with cold weather.

Yesterday was my first really cool weather ride. My nose just ran and ran. I got so sick of clearing each nostril that I did the no handed rocket! To my surprise it actually worked, well 2 out of 3 did. Saturday on the beginner club ride I was riding next to someone just chatting away. I had to spit out the nasal drainage so turned my head and let fly. I almost hit the person behind me. Hey, the last time I checked he was 50 yards back. Anyhow I apologized and he laughed and said no problem. In any other situation the guy probably would have be grossed out. Ain't cycling great!?

Kudos to you on your first official snot rocket launch! It's very liberating, after the first one or two, you just let 'em rip (not in mixed company of course!)

Last week I had my sunglasses hanging around my neck and let one go inadvertently hitting my sunglasses......... That stuff hardened on there like super glue! Finally got it all cleaned off.....note to self, put sunglasses on before launching snot rocket.

That's one I really want to remember! Imagine not realizing and putting them on.
