Don't know why why I heard this when I started reading... VOLARE.... I don't have the accent to put on it but the song sprang into my head... Things like that happen a LOT

"but she is one sweet ride. Can't wait till tomorrow when I'll have more time to spend with her. Maybe then she'll tell me what her name is. Hmmm..."

Yes, Congrats on your new Bianchi, I think we'll all have to pinch in rides as best we can. I've a busy weekend ahead, w/ work and a wedding to attend and no time to ride except maybe fri afternoon, next week looks better. What names you got in mind?

Yup, gotta let the bike tell you. Flosshilde told me what she wanted me to call her as I was falling asleep one night. And that was before I even had her in my hot little hands!

Now that I have her, I must say the name suits her beautifully.

(actually, my dog's name "came to me" in the same way)

    Here she is...

Pictures! One pretty standard pic from the side, then a more artsy one--I love Photoshop!
And possible names. So far, she's only whispering, so it might be any of these:
    MizCrabtree (of Little Rascals fame)
    Abby Normal (from "Young Frankenstein")
Sugar Magnolia (from nowhere in particular--though I think there was a popular song by this title, back in the 80s?)
    Annabelle Lee (E. A. Poe)
and the one I'm leaning toward at the moment, Professor Sprout, from the world of Harry Potter:
"Professor Sprout was a squat little witch who wore a patched hat over her flyaway hair; there was usually a large amount of earth on her clothes and her fingernails would have made Aunt Petunia faint."
Sounds more like a MTB maybe, but still, I like the sense of tomboyishness.

    Any preferences?

Wow, Nanci--I checked out that century online--looks like you Gainesville cyclists have a whole cycling weekend. It looks like fun and I'd love to come, but our local century is that very weekend--it'll be Prof. Sprout's first metric, and my first in about 3 years.
