I have the Lena skirt. It's a small, and it fits well. Usually, I wear an xsmall petite (size 2) in regular clothing and I wear Ibex xsmall in tops. But I have found the Ibex stuff to run much smaller in the bottoms, or at least they are not cut to fit someone with a body like mine. I am 5' 1" and I am very slim on the top and waist. My hips and thighs are within the size proportions that Ibex has on its website, but on the outer edge of the measurements. When I tried on the x small pants, they would not get over my calves!

Crankin, I think we have a similar shape. I may call Ibex on Monday to ask them if the XS Pizzi is as large as the S Lena in the hip area. I save alot of money by waiting until something is on sale so long that my size is sold out. Will I ever learn! Tokie

    Shak/Carrie sizing update

So after all the sizing advice the other week (thanks!), I thought I should post an update. I was able to go to REI today and pick up the Shak (S) and Carrie hoodies (S and M) that I ordered the other day. All of them fit; the smalls were snug, but I don't think they looked excessively tight. The funny thing is that I thought the Shak in S actually worked better than the Carrie in S -- maybe it's stretchier? I ended up liking the fit of the Carrie better in M, even though it's a bit broad under the arms (I have that problem in all clothes, including my beloved Icebreaker Conquest; I guess I have a narrow ribcage), but I might try on both sizes over various sweaters tomorrow to help me decide for sure. (FYI, I tried all of the sweaters over an Ibex Kate layered over an Icebreaker tank.) I'm not sure about the Shak...it's possible that I'd like it more in a medium, even though the S fit; the other issue is that the zipper is pretty prominent, more so than on my IB Conquest, making it perhaps too casual for the office. I'll have to sit on it for a bit and consider.

I do really like the look of the Carrie, though -- I see why you're all so sold on it!

In the meantime, I ordered *two* of the pointelle camisoles (both in black) from Ibex. I probably only needed one, but I rationalized that the extra would would make good PJs. :-) When you're addicted, you can invent an excuse for any indulgence.

That's funny, the Shak in a L fits me, but the L Carrie is just too sloppy through the shoulders and armpits (and I have broad shoulders). I ordered a M to see if it would work, but it may be too small. I can't really figure out Ibex sizing; it seems like every piece fits differently.

I agree about the zipper making the Shak look casual. Luckily my office allows casual dress all the time, but I may limit the Shak to Fridays.

I think the Shak is fine to wear at work, if you work in an environment that doesn't require suits. I wore it teaching and to my admission interview at Lesley University (with a wool scarf to dress it up).
I guess if you work in a bank, it wouldn't be OK.

So after reading your posts, I went back this morning and tried all three sweaters on again in the daylight, over Icebreaker tops in 320 and 190 weight. And yeah, I think that after all the Carrie in M is too big. It felt comfortable because it's loose, but you can see the arms are too big and the bottom hem stands away from my hips. Still thinking about the Shak -- I may wait till a friend visits and gives me an outside opinion.

Re Ibex sizing in general, yeah, it does seem to vary a bit. My Ibex Backcountry pants feel half a size bigger than my Ibex Loose Tights, which themselves run a bit loose, while Ibex underwear fits well. Overall I find Ibex slightly looser than Icebreaker.

Anyone have the Ibex Serrano Wool Jersey? I'm thinking of getting this off TE since it is on sale and I need some items I can layer up.

How warm is it (which I realize is subjective, but a few opinions should help)? How is the sizing? I generally order mediums in everything, but I do have a 34D chest. Would the medium be ok or should I size up?

Also I'm looking at the Meru hat. Does it cover the ears? My ears get cold if I just think about going outside!

Wearing my Kate today. It fits perfectly! Even the sleeve length and hem are perfect for my short body. It's like it's cut the same as a petite top.
    Heaven..

I can't help you with questions about the top, but I own the Meru hat and love it. I wore it today under my helmet for a 13-mile ride in the high 20s and was very comfortable. It covers my ears, but is thin enough that it doesn't make my helmet too tight.
