    Cool Breeze Training rides

    Hi girls!
Channel Islands Bike Club is the club that puts on the Cool Breeze!
I joined the group about a month ago, of I haven't ridden with them yet!
I am FINALLY working up the nerve for a group ride and am going this Saturday.
Anyhow, they are having a few training rides (going through parts of the routes for the cool breeze rides)
    Check out the schedule
    http://www.cibike.org/page2.html

I am riding with them this Saturday, and a few more times until Cool Breeze.
I know it is a drive, but if anyone wants to come out and try a ride, let me know!!!
    thanks!
    Karen

Who is planning to ride the century at cool breeze, and who is opting for the metric instead?

well... i'm doing the double metric... but i think it's way too soon to be deciding to downgrade from the century to the metric! it's a month away!

i would re-ask this question a couple of days before the ride! until then... you should ALL forge ahead with your training/plans to do the century!

Oh, I'm still planning on the century caligurl...but there's been talk of doing the metric from some others, so I was just curious She still hasn't decided yet, but it looks like I'm losing my riding partner, so I need to gear up for riding alone if everyone else is doing the metric.

Well I have to say I'm torn. I just haven't had the opportunity to do long rides and prepare. I could do a century but I will suffer. The metric would be easier. Brandy you can decide the day of - let's see how everyone does and feelsup until then. I really need to do some long rides but this hot weather is holding me back. Hopefully I will be doing a Belmont Shores ride (about 70 miles) on Sunday. Then we will see how I feel. Also the ride on the 30th will help make a decision. If I can survive that I most likely can do the century.

I have no plans to bail out! If I can do a metric, I can surely do a century with a little more food in my belly. I'm glad to hear that you're in for the century Karen!

I'm sorry Brandy. I feel like such a poo-poo head!!! (that's the cleanest version I could think of in place of what I really want to say )

As to not leave you hanging, I've decided to go to the concert. There are many more upcoming century rides to choose from and I look forward (hope) to have you as a riding partner for my first one. By then, you'll have done Cool Breeze and you can be my mentor. lol!

I'm glad to see there's going to be at least a couple other century riders! <<nodnod>>

Your biggest challenge isn't someone else.
It's the ache in your lungs and the burning in your legs and the voice inside that yells "CAN'T".
But you don't listen. You just push harder.
And then you hear the voice whisper "CAN".
And you discover that the person you thought you were is no match for the one you really are.

Oh and I'm really bummed that I now won't be able to wear the jersey that I pre-ordered.

I guess I should also follow up with this:

If anyone still needs registration and a women's medium jersey, they're up for sale.
