I've already told Sandra that I see a business in her future:

"Hello, my name is Sandra and I'm addicted to bicycles"

Lisa, I've checked into the 12-step meetings, but there are none in my area. Maybe I can find an online one. It's a good think I'm not a smoker or much of a drinker. I just might have an addictive personality.

oh yeah, I forgot to report. I'm so mad about that $5 rusted bike from the barn that I bought. First off, when I cleaned it, most of the paint washed off. I found out those are supposed to be some really good pedals on it. I got one off fairly easily. The other one I've sprayed with PB Blaster for a week. Even got my strapin' strong son to try it. He was trying to use a wrench and a "cheater bar" and it popped off and him in the cheek. I told him to forget it. That pedal is not going anywhere.

To finance my addiction, I'd have to work more. If I work more, I'd never have time to admire and ride my bike. It's a vicious cycle.

I just bought more shoes and more wool this week. I know DH is trying hard to restrain himself from commenting. What a man.

(of course, he is always getting some bike part or another in the mail...so perhaps it evens out a little- though I think my stuff costs more)

I'm so thankful I don't need wool. I DO love shoes though.

The chain is kinked up because links are frozen. Who knows when the last time the chain was replaced. DH will be working on it so I won't be riding it for a few weeks at least. This is a dangerous hobby

For a Mixte ride, we will (DH and I) need another Mixte so he can go along. Didn't I see something about a Raleigh in here???

    Oooh, pretty Motobecane!

    !!!!SEATTLE MIXTE ALERT!!!!

Today, at Recycled Cycles, Trek420 and I saw a sweet (but slightly battered) 48cm baby-blue Nishiki mixte 12 spd for $85. www.recycledcycles.com 206-547-4491

I was ready to buy it *right that very moment* but Trek420 talked me out of it. 'cuz basically there is NOWHERE in my little 900 sq ft apartment to put another bike!

It had stem-mount friction shifters, SunTour parts mostly. New generic rims and tires.

    sigh...

Alice, that is a gorgeous Motobecane. My husband found that same frame on eBay and was really disappointed when I lost that auction.
