Payday would liquify in some of the heat I ride in!

I hate that my sport beans always become a big gooey mass, but I knew it was hot the day my Excedrin melted to the pill box!

I should clarify...the excedrin was actually still solid... it was the coating that had melted into a gross glue-like substance! I've since switched my stash to uncoated tablets!

I still think hot is better than too cold. I haven't forgotten the day last winter when I rode and my gatorade FROZE. I need to move to Phoenix or San Diego, I think!!!

That was Sunday. Thom dumped water from his water bottle on me. It was like taking a hot shower.

ugh... here too! I'm IN San Diego and Saturday when I got home from a BLIND DATE ride it was 108 in the shade!!! I got so hot I started to get chills... fortunately at that point we were only a mile from the car... I don't think he had any idea how close I was to heat exhaustion/bonk...

and yeah, our water was HOT... just fyi... hot Cytomax tastes like cr@p!

Sunday I laid on the couch and did nothing. LOL

When one of the guys at the TT gets heatstroke and has to leave in an ambulance

One of my teammates computer had a temperature guage - she said it was measuring between 99 and 105 when we were out on course! And the guys went about an hour later than we did so it was even more broiling for them. Another guy passed out, crashed got back on his bike and still finished something like 6th!

I hear that rim glue can melt in those conditions, and criterium racers roll tires. I'm staying up north where my tires will stay firmly on my rims. I don't know how you do it, Denise, but more power to you.
