I don't think a crazy with a gun is considered an excuse...I'd worry if you didn't question your safety.

I heard about this on the news. IS this individual targeting people in a specific area of the city or at random locations?

I think the gym is a wise choice. I can't imagine one minute riding and enjoying the experience and the next thing I know I am on the ground with a bullet in my body. That just makes my skin crawl.

I don't think that's an excuse...it actually sounds like a smart move to stay off the streets right now. That is so scary. I read an article when some of the forum members were talking about it a few weeks ago...is he still confined to a general area?

If I was in Arizona right now I'd drive up to Sedona and get some cooler riding in for a day...of course, I'll use anything as an excuse to visit Sedona.

Wow...that latest shooting took place right near the house where my dh lived when we met. Too scary, I think I'd be too nervous to ride.

My DH (ex cop) would tell you to stick to the gym for awhile. It's too hot to ride outside anyway. Why chance it?

Cops on the task force (if they're smart) don't tell the media everything. So, err on the side of caution. Can you get into some spinning classes?

    Mntkichn,

Where do you ride? I ride on Pecos in Ahwatuki and pretty early too. Usually I ride with my husband, but this morning I went by myself at 5 am and it was pretty dark until 5:20 am. I completely understand your concerns, but I cannot stay at home and just use my trainer. If you want to get together one day, we could ride together.

Not an excuse in my opinion. Sounds like the safer thing to do. If you are able to go to the gym, even though it isn't the same as riding, thats what I would do. The bike will still be there when this guy is caught.

    Unhappy

I read about this when someone first posted the article. It makes me sad to see that there is so much crime very close to my old neighborhood (s/o Elliot and Rural). I know that my close friend who lives near my old house hears gunshots on a not too infrequent basis. What is going on? There's just too many people crowded into one area.

Personally, I would try to find a riding partner, but until they catch him (them), I might stick to the gym.

Yikes - heat and a nutter hanging around would be enough to make me consider the gym for awhile.

    Keep safe and cool.
