Gosh, I feel so lucky that it's only been in the low 100s here.I've managed to start most of my rides when it's only in the 70s-80s and finish them when it's in the upper 90s...but that's in and around Park City (up "in the mountains")! I have been doing short rides (~30 mi) here in the Salt Lake Valley, mostly to make sure I stay acclimated to the heat. I'm doing OK with it, as long as I faithfully take my endurolytes and not ride like a madwoman. When I was out riding this morning I rode through the annual Utah Pioneer Day Marathon...BRUTAL! At least they started early (in the dark!) and most should have finished before the temp went over 90.
The thing that's been bothering me more than the heat is the pollution. My eyes burn all the time these days.![]()
