Oh my gosh, Pikato, I grew up just east of Lafayette! I moved to Georgia when I married a Georgia boy 20 years ago and have missed it every day since. All of my family is still there.

Be prepared for heat, humidity and mosquitoes. You will definitely want to bring that new Camemback. Chicot is actually near Ville Platte, which is a Cajun little town about 40 miles north of Lafayette. The good news is that it is flat, flat, flat down there -- the only hills are highway overpasses!
