A few months ago we replaced my trusty old Volvo with a fancy schmancy BMW. I wanted an x5 but the husband INSISTED on a 5 series sedan, so... sigh... we have a sedan. It's a great car, but my husband is sort of a FREAK about it. My old volvo (BO BO was her name) had various tri stickers on her and I really felt like she was MY car. Well of course in this fancy new ride came with a "no tri sticker" stipulation, so the negotiations began. He agreed to a personalized plate and license plate frame.
So today I ordered IRNMOM. I wanted TRI ME, but that was already taken. Now I just need to find a finishers plate frame. They ran out of them at the expo, so hopefully they get them back in.
Anyhoo... Soon I'll be cruising the streets as IRNMOM. Sweet huh??![]()

Woo-hoo! Sweet ride, and license plate! I agree, we need pics when you get it in (both of the car and the plate- but mostly the plate).![]()

My plate is BIKNPAM... one day an older gentleman asked me if I was "Bikini" Pam. I had to say "No... do I look like a Bikini Pam?" His response was "Ohhhhh, it's Biking Pam!"

I love it! Much better than "tri me", which has a somewhat salacious sound. Looking forward to pix! Great negotiations with Tony, BTW. L.

On my tri board, someone said they saw some plates on a car at a race:

I had a friend who had the plate KONA 2000.
I like IRNMOM better.

Plate: Very cool! Is it yours, Nanci? Is the pigeon part of the plate, or was it very artistically added on?Originally Posted by Nanci

Of course it's mine! I photoshopped a pic of Dill to match the plate. I have to replace it pretty often. There is a sea turtle underneath. Florida has about nine billion specialty plates.

Wow. Florida has *100* specialty plates. I counted. That's amazing. Yours is #101, really. So cool that you created that Dill sticker so perfectly. I remain in awe of photoshop.Originally Posted by Nanci
In Chicago, there's a big difference (in our minds) between North side and South side. It's as if we were rival nations sometimes. I have friends and colleagues from the South side. I'm sure they say, "Hey! Some of my friends are North siders!" (Believe it or not, this is a story about photoshop) The other night, my boss/friend (who's a South sider all the way) and I are talking outside after the staff meeting. A medium sized rat scuttles by and down the alley. Doesn't bother me. She's a bit freaked by it, and says"That rat was huge! We don't have rats like that on the South side!" Of course they do. And it wasn't even that big. Anyways, I wanted to make her a picture of a big ol' rat holding a Cubs pennant. (The Cubs play on the N. side, Sox play on the S. side). The caption would be, "See, I told you it was a north side rat!"
Since I don't have the foggiest notion how to do that, I'll make it with the old fashioned cut and paste method--cut out a picture of a rat, paste on a Cubs pennant!![]()

Sweet plate Nanci! I have some magazines to send you for our hood. They have pic's from some residents of the wildlife we have up here. This month it was bird themed. When I saw them I thought of you. I thought you would like to see the critters I share my world with.
KSH- At first I wanted PIG EON, but it was already taken. I like PID GIN better now anyway. BF calls me Pid as a nickname all the time. (And Nano...)
RM- THat would be cool! We came within one degree of the record high yesterday- 96. I can't even imagine what 20F+ more would be like. Our humidity was only 48%, though...
