Did pretty good today vis a vis avg speed. Triend some more variations, and got to do a little detour. It looked the Frieght train crew I sometimes run across had derailed a car, so I had to do so improvisation. My morning train was late too, presumably b/c of the derailment

The rain finally let up and I was able to take my new recumbent out for a spin. I decided to ride the route I've put together for this evening's club ride. I really concentrated on my cadence today (computer lacks this function) to see if this would not help me increase my speed and boy what a difference it made. I went from an average speed of 14 to 15 today. I know there were other factors at work here as well, mainly terrain but it sure did do a lot for my confidence on this bike. I now know I can, with a lot of focus really achieve the speeds (low end) that I desire. I got in 22 miles this after and will take the "little blue bike" out this evening when I host the club ride.
I did my usual 22 miles today but solo. The wind was rather uncomfortable, it looks like mansoons are coming. Plust it was 95F when I left. But I managed to hold decent speed most of times, average 17.8 mph. It certainly felt like I completed exhausted myself. I am still yawning.
I did another spin class. Yawn. I should be back on the bike just in time for the rain to start...![]()

I only have time to ride to work and back - I ride on my old Klein Mountain Bike and I felt like Floyd Landis - Oh that was only in my mind - I had just gotten done watching the Tour De France coverage!
Bike riding is so fun!
