The exciting ride - for me!

    Hi, ladies

Once again a big thank you for your inspiration! Even when I'm away from the board for long stretches, I still think often of the many encouraging, emotional, funny and happy posts I've read here.

In the past week, a switch got flipped in me and I'm back into wanting it. It being everything. Exercise, yard work, pictures, all my life. And the proof was on the ride.

We've recently moved to a new city, it's soooo much nicer here! The people are friendly, the climate is fabulous, the house we lucked into buying is the right size in an amazing neighbourhood, and, blessedly, has air conditioning! Life is good.

After some disappointing rides, where my performance was just plain sad and I could not envision this being fun again, yesterday our friends here showed us new area to ride and it is FANTASTIC!!! I finally remembered how much I love riding, how fun it is to go fast, and to wind through trees and take the roundabout way up and down the hills.....and the views were great! And the stop at the beach afterwards was pretty darned nice, too....

Anyway, really love the GPS/HRM that I got for Christmas (yup, he got one from me, too), and can't resist posting this finally a good ride for you to check out!

I turned the unit off before we stopped at the beach, so it's missing the climb out from the beach back to the car....

DH kept his on from the beach back to the car, so he's got an extra 1000 ft of climbing showing....but I did that too! http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/e...kValue=1030498

Check out the map player and all the different screens. It's really fun stuff!

    Happy riding, everyone!

    Namaste,
    ~T~

Good to see you back, T !

Congrats on getting back to riding!

    Keep it up!

Well, Brandi, it's been a tumultuous year so far. We renovated our house - well, DH did almost all of the work - ; in the middle of that, in February I moved to another city about 4 hours away, stayed with a friend, then another friend, then another friend, as I started a completely new job, sometimes going back on weekends, but not able to do much because of DH's crazy weekend shift work, then, about a month ago, we finally moved into our house here in Vernon, which meant the whole family, DH, me, the 2 border collies and 2 cats, are all united again!!

During those 4 months it was nearly impossible to do the things I could have and should have to stay in shape - I didn't want to take over friends' kitchens with my type of cooking; and somehow all motivation to get out and ride, especially in a new city, in the spring with early dark, was *gone*. I thought that it would come back instantly when we got here, but we needed about three weeks of doing some unpacking and organizing and of just relaxing in the hot evenings we had last week and the week before.

We've been on a few rides with a couple we've met here, but last weekend was the first one where I felt strong and happy on my bike! yay!

Of course, since there's always a wrinkle in everything, the thing that's been bothering me in my belly somewhere is, according to the doc, my gallbladder and I'll be having an ultrasound in a couple of weeks to find out exactly what it's doing. The most amazing thing about that is - earl grey tea is really very soothing! <grin>

Anyway, that's the short version of my long story. Now I'm just getting back to balancing all the things I need to and love to do in a life already full with a busy full-time job: ride, tend the fabulously overgrown yard, take pictures and try to sell them, doggies and cats, and, of course, DH.

Now I'm just one of the girls!

Thanks for asking, and thank you again, everyone, for your encouragement!!

    Namaste,
    ~T~
