Hi,

I am in one of the vertan clubs and we are having a major discussion about the SECRETARY position.

Would be great if anyone can help with these questions

Does anyones club pay the secretary for their work?
Do the other committee members receive payment for their work?
Is it some form of discrimination if the club pays the secretary and not the other committe members?

PLEASE HELP????

I'm the secretary of my Bike Club and certainly don't get paid for it! As with the rest of the committee we all do it for the love of it.

On saying that, we're only a club of about 80 members so there's not a great deal of official secretarial work to do. If yours is a larger organisation with a large the volume of work it would probably make sense to pay for 'proper' secretary to run things.

I'm certainly not qualifed in secretarial skills but then all I have to do is take down the minutes, organise the monthly meeting and reply to a few correspondence.
