Picked up the Bianchi Veloche with her brand new aero bars and tri saddle. Don't like the saddle so much--hurts the sit bone area. I went down into the aero bars once, cruising on a pretty open stretch of Elston. Then I thought, "The TE'ers will kick my cyber-butt if I crash because I was in the aero bars on a city street." Got back out to where I could reach the brakes and shift!
Had a (dumb) idea that I'd go for a fast ride down the south lakefront path to try out the aero bars after donating blood. Wrong. I sat around, ate, drank and drank water, after donating blood, and eventually got on the bike to come home. Didn't ride too quickly either. It fried me to get passed by...everybody. Rode a total of 12.5 miles. Ate more, drank more water, slept an hour, and went to play volleyball (as I always do on Thurs) in an un-ac'd field house. Whew. That was a bit wonky. Home now. On call, hoping for a quiet night! Shhhh, all you pregnant women...sleep....sleep...sleep...!![]()
